For six minutes and 40 seconds, Nikita Kucherov stewed.
Thirty-three seconds after that, he celebrated.
Kucherov lifted the Tampa Bay Lightning to its second consecutive victory Sunday night, scoring on the first shift of overtime in a 2-1 win win over the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
Kucherov had apparently scored the go-ahead goal with 6:40 left in regulation, taking a pass from Brayden Point and sliding the puck past Knight's rookie goalie Carl Lindbom.
Replays, however, said that Kucherov was offsides on the play. It was the second go-ahead goal the Bolts had disallowed.
Kucherov settled things only 33 seconds into overtime, taking a pass from Brandon Hagel and scoring.
Hagel also had a goal earlier in the game.
Andrei Vassilevskiy won his first game of the year for the Bolts with 18 saves.
"People wil tell you that we needed adversity," Lightning coach Jon Cooper said. "I would rathere not have adversity, but the boys faced some real challenges tonight and came through."
