Well, look whose bats finally arrived from Toronto. Danny Jansen, welcome to the offense of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Jansen, off to a miserable start at the plate with the Rays, broke out in a 6-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves. Jansen had three hits, including a double and a home run, and drove in four runs in the victory.
Jansen had been just one-for-27 before he hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning.
Taj Bradley recovered from a shaky start for the Rays. In the first inning, he gave up a run on two hits and two walks. Over the next five innings, however, he surrendered just three hits and no runs. Bradley is 2-0 on the season.
Edwin Uceta gave up two home runs in the eighth inning.
Pete Fairbanks picked up his third save.
The Rays and Braves play today at 4:10 p.m. at Steinbrenner Field. Drew Rasmussen will start for the Rays against A.J. Smith-Shawver.
