Yeah, Shane Baz gets it.

Faced with the prospect of continuing the hot streak of the Tampa Bay Rays’ starting staff, Baz was more than equal to the task. He provided the Rays with their fifth straight strong starting performance in the Rays’ 7-0 victory over Pittsburgh.

For the night, Baz struck out 10 over six innings and spread seven hits without issuing a walk. One time through the lineup, the five starters of the Rays have pitched 29 innings, giving up four runs. They’ve struck out 36 and walked just one.

Over the last two games, the Rays have also had 20 hits in two lopsided wins.

Rookie Jake Mangum continued his hot streak. He had three hits, after getting four on Monday night.

Veteran Brandon Lowe also had three hits and is hitting .333 on the season.

The Ray, 4-1, play the Pirates again at 1:10 p.m. today at Steinbrenner Field. Ryan Pepiot is scheduled to start against Pittsburgh ace Paul Skenes.
