It doesn’t happen often enough. Certainly, you can’t count on it.
But every now and then, the offense of the Tampa Bay Rays shows up.
The Rays, who have struggled at the plate for most of the season, scored 11 runs and banged out 13 hits in an 11-4 victory over the San Diego Padres Saturday afternoon. It came just one day after the Padres won an 13-5 game, meaning both games of the series have been runaways.

The Rays fell behind 2-0 on a homer by Jake Cronenworth in the first inning, but then scored nine runs in a row.
Brandon Lowe had three hits for the Rays. Christopher Morel, Josh Lowe and Jose Caballero had there. Caballero also had four RBI on the day.
Rookie Junior Caminero hit a three-run homer in the second.
The Rays, who have struggled with runners in scoring position, had six hits in 11 tries on Sunday.
Shane Baz, who missed time with an illness, went five innings and allowed two hits and two runs.
The Ryas are 67-68 on the season.
The Rays and Padres wrap up their series today at 1:40 p.m. at Tropicana Field. Dylan Cease will start for San Diego against Ryan Pepiot.
