Okay, okay. Michael Van Buren is still behind Byrum Brown as far as miracles in the name of USF goes.

But he's gaining.

Van Buren, the new USF quarterback, led the USF Bulls to an improbable comeback Saturday in a 28-24 road win over Army. Van Buren led the Bulls to two touchdowns in the final 3:13 to improve USF's record to 2-0.

Van Buren threw a 38-yard touchdown pass with 23 seconds to play to pull out the win. Earlier, he had run for a 24-yard touchdown and an 18-yard score. He had thrown for a seven-yard score to Bryson Rodgers.

But it was uphill game for the Bulls. They surrendered 219 yards rushing to Army, and they allowed the Knights to hit 10 of their 11 passes.

Army led 24-14 late in the fourth quarter. The Knights had played keepaway most of the game. Army had the ball 35:46 to the Bulls' 24:14. That included a drive of 9:57 in the second quarter.

But Van Buren responded to USF being forced to throw, hitting 10 of his last 15 passes for 122 yards.

On the winning drive, the key play came with 25 seconds to play. First-year coach Brian Hartline decided not try to kick a game-tying field goal of 55 yards by Nico Gramatical. Instead, he went for it on fourth-and-six. Van Buren found Joshua Porter down the right sideline for the win.

The Bulls are home at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday night against Delaware State.

Florida 52, Campbell 3: The Gators' Vernell Brown III paid attention to his digits against the outmanned Campbell Fighting Camels Saturday.

Brown scored three times -- two on punt returns of 70 and 64 yards -- as the Gators pulled away from Campbell in the second quarter in their big win.

Brown had 262 all-purpose yards as the Gators moved from a 10-3 first period edge to a 45-3 halftime lead.

For the Gators, Jadan Baugh rushed for 136 yards. Quarterback Aaron Philo threw for 262 yards. Receiver Dallas Wilson caught five passes foe 104 yards.

Florida plays at Auburn next Saturday at 7 p.m.
