Yep. This is what the road feels like, okay.

Team charter. Room Service. Mints on the pillows. And losing baseball.

The Tampa Bay Rays continue to falter away from Tropicana Field, this time losing a rain-soaked 6-3 game against  the Baltimore Orioles. The loss lowered Tampa Bay's road record to 1-7 on the season.

This time, the loss came after starting pitcher Chris Archer had his worst outing of the season. He gave up three home runs and walked five opponents as he absorbed his first defeat of the season. Both stats haunted Archer during last season's 19-loss outing.

Tampa Bay went ahead 3-1 early, but the offense stopped there. Baltimore scored five runs in its last three at bats.

“It's a little bit of a recurring theme,” said Rays' manager Kevin Cash. “We get off to a good start and are unable to separate.

“Their offense does a good job against Archer. They don't chase the ball down low. For some reason, they see him pretty well.”

The Rays took a 1-0 lead on Corey Dickerson's home run, then went ahead 3-1 on Shane Peterson's double. But the O's came back, led by Adam Jones' two-run homer.

The Rays play again today against Baltimore when Erasmo Ramirez pitches against Wade Miley.
