Diaz, Josh Lowe and Walls had two hits.

Manny Machado had two singles and a three-run homer for the Padres. David Peralta had a two-run homer.

The Rays and Padres play again today at 4:10 p.m. at Tropicana Field. Shane Baz will start for the Rays against Randy Vasquez.
