Are there any critics left. In a darkened corner in Tampa Bay, is there a skeptic who still doubts Baker Mayfield?
Mayfield guided the Tampa Bay Bucs to a 2-0 record Sunday, going on the road to upset Detroit, 20-16. Mayfield ran for a touchdown and threw for another. He led the Bucs in passing and rushing. He survived 4 1/2 sacks by Aiden Hutchinson. He had a 90.2 rating, one week after a 146.4.
Not a bad day, huh?

Even more importantly, the Bucs got off a 2-0 start. Tampa Bay’s defense made two stops in their own territory in the late going. The Lions dominated in yardage and time of possession, but they were just one-for-seven in the red zone.
Yardage was tough for the Bucs, who had just 36 that Mayfield didn’t gain. But Mayfield hit Chris Godwin for a 41-yard score and ran 11 yards for another.
Godwin caught seven passes for 117 yards. Jerome Whitehead had 11 tackles. Jamel Dean and Sirvocea each had 10.
Jarad Goff threw for 307 yards for the Lions. However, the threw two interceptions.
The Bucs are home on Sunday against Philadelphia at 1 p.m.
