For the third time in four games, the Tampa Bay Lightning have stubbed their toe.
The Bolts lost two one-goal leads and fell to the Washington Capitals, 3-2 in overtime at Capital One Arena.
Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy had his best game of the year, but he still fell to 0-3. He saved 35 shots, but he gave up three goals. In his three games, he has given up 12 goals, many more than Vasilevskiy gives up in a normal streak.
The Bolts had a 1-0 lead on a goal by Jake Guentzel, then took a 2-1 lead in the third period on a goal by Brayden Point. But Washington came back each time.
The Caps got their winning goal at 1:19 left when Tom Wilson skated hard behind the net and passed back -- between the legs of Anthony Cirelli -- to Jakob Chychrun, who knocked the winning goal in.
Washington outshot the Bolts 28-19.
Tampa Bay plays at Detroit on Friday night at 7 p.m.
