For those of you who had wondered where Josh Lowe's power had gone, it turns out he left it in Washington.
Lowe, the Rays' right-fielder, had 20 home runs the season before last. He had slumped to seven this year...before Saturday.
Lowe hit a pair of home runs to lead the Rays to their second straight 4-1 win over the Washington Senators. Lowe slugged a three-run shot in the first and second solo homer in the fourth.
The Rays, 66-69 on the season, managed just five hits in the win.
Still, Tampa Bay held Washington down for the second straight game. Starter Ryan Pepiot was a bit wild, but he allowed just one hit through five innings. Bryan Baker earned his third save of the season.
Washington managed just four hits on the day.
The Rays go for the sweep today against the Senators at 1:35 p.m. Ian Seymour will start for the Rays against Brad Lord.
