It leaves Tampa Bay 1-3 on the season and searching for answers. Granted, Tuesday’s loss wasn’t quite as harsh as the two that came before it, but the Bolts have still given up 14 goals in three games and — without goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy, who is injured — there isn’t a lot clear sky ahead.
This time, the Bolts got a point — thanks to two goals by Brandon Hagel. Hagel’s second goal forced overtime with only seven seconds left.
But the Bolts were dominated in the extra period. The Bolts didn’t get off a shot. They had just 23 for the entire game.
Tampa Bay did do a better job protecting its goaltenders, but Jonas Johansson had to make 28 saves.
Besides Vasilevskiy, Captain Steven Stamkos missed his second straight game.
The Bolts are home at Amalie Arena against Vancouver on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
