Glasnow allowed just one hit./TIM WIRT

Sunday, 4 a.m.

When he is on like this, no one questions whether Tyler Glasnow is healthy again.

Glasnow dominated the New York Yankees Saturday afternoon, in perhaps his best performance of the year. despite being what he called "effectively wild.''

Glasnow went six innings, allowing just one hit (after 5 2/3 innings). Solid relief pitching allowed the Rays to complete their 12th shutout of the year, a 3-0 win over the Yankees.

The Yankees have now lost 11 of their last 13 games.

The Rays didn’t do a lot offensively, but they didn’t have to. A double by Luke Raley in the second inning set up a two-run inning. Sacrifice flies by Harold Ramirez and Jonathan Aranda brought in the runs.

In the third inning, back-to-back doubles by Randy Arozarena and Josh Lowe brought home another run.

That was all that Glasnow needed. He allowed his only hit to D.J. LeMahieu (who also singled off Pete Fairbanks in the ninth).

The bullpen was stellar. Robert Stephenson, Jason Adam and Fairbanks threw a shutout inning each, all of them striking out two batters.

The Rays and Yankees finish their series today at 1:10 p.m. Zack Littell will start for the Rays against Carlos Rodon.
