Well, they won, for one thing. After spending the early going shooting themselves in the foot, the Bulls surged to a 44-30 victory over Navy. It was the team’s second straight win in the American Conference, which is more than in the last three years combined.

Bulls’ quarterback Bryon Brown hit 26 of 34 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns. Included in those was an 88-yard touchdown to Sean Atkins. For the day, Atkins had four catches for 116 yards.

The Bulls play at UAB on Saturday.

Kentucky 33, Florida 14: The Wildcats, who had once lost 32 straight games to Florida, simply ran all over the Gators Saturday afternoon.

Kentucky ran for 329 yards in its drubbing of the Gators. Kentucky got 280 of those from Ray Davis, who scored three times.

The Wildcats jumped to a 16-0 lead and were never challenged.

Florida is home Saturday against Vanderbilt at 4 p.m.
