Yay, laundry.

Fans cheered the red jerseys. They cheered the white pants. They cheered the pewter helmets.

Every now and then, there was a glimpse of someone who might play significant minutes for the Tampa Bay Bucs this season. They cheered them, too.

All in all, it was a nice first step for the Bucs, who beat the Tennessee Titans 29-7 in their first preseason game. The Bucs — largely made up of draftees and dreamers — kept the ball most of the night, and their quarterbacks-not-named-Baker-Mayfield were very good.

Along the way, the team checked a few boxes.

-- Kyle Trask. Be honest. Most of us still have no idea whether Trask can play or not. But he was good on Saturday night, hitting 12 of 16 for 129 yards. On the other hand, the Titans can use some help in their secondary. Bucs' third teamer Connor Bazelak was six of nine.)

-- Sean Tucker. The Bucs' third-team back had a good night, rushing for 50 yards. Almost half of those came on a 23-yard run that set up a touchdown.

-- Ryan Miller. The numbers say they're is no room at the inn for him, but after a six-catch, 66-yard effort, he has to be in the conversation.

-- Owen Wright. If Tucker is in a logjam, consider Wright. Wright led the Bucs with 87 yards rushing, and would have had more if penalties hadn't called back two scores.

-- The Bucs had the ball for almost 35 minutes.

-- The team gave fans just a hint of No. 1 draft pick Emeka Egbuka and Jalen McMillan, who each had one catch.

-- Linebacker Chris Braswell didn't make a lot of splash plays, but he was third on the team with four tackles.

— For those who are concerned with depth at inside linebacker, Nick Jackson led the team in tackles and had a sack.

-- Roman Parodie made an attempt to get into the cornerback mix with a 39-yard interception return.

The Bucs travel to Pittsburgh on Saturday to face the Steelers at 7 p.m.
