Too many nights, the Tampa Bay Lightning depends on Nikita Kucherov to provide most of its points.

And so without him, it figures that the Bolts would struggle to score.

Kucherov missed Friday night's game against Detroit, and you guessed it, the Bolts had a hard time offensively. They dropped a 2-1 game to the Red Wings in overtime.

The Bolts didn't get off a shot until 13 minutes had passed.

That left the Bolts 1-2-2 on the season.

Tampa Bay got off only 11 shots in the fsirst two periods. In the third, they got off 22, but Wings' goalie John Gibson stopped them all but one.

Another example of how much the Bolts missed Kucherov was that the team was 0-for-3 on power plays.

With 3:43 remaining, J.J. Moser scored to force overtime.

There was 3:36 left in the extra period when Dylan Larkin scored the winning goal.

Axel Sandin Pelikka had put Detroit ahead 1-0 in the first period.

Andrei Vasilevskiy remained winless in his four starts (0-2-2).

The Bolts play in Columbus against the Blue Jackets tonight at 7 p.m.
