Another day. Another defeat. All the Tampa Bay Rays really accomplished Saturday was another meek step toward the end of the season.

And really, isn't it about time?

The Rays offered scant resistence to the Toronto Blue Jays Saturday, bowing 5-1 in another disappointing outing. The Rays are now seven games under .500 (77-84).

The Rays managed only seven hits (zero for four with runners in scoring position). They struck out 12 times. Chandler Simpson overslid third base and was out in a baserunning gaffe. They scored just once, on Jonathan Aranda's second home run in two days.

The Rays gave up three rushing in the second inning, one in the fifth and anohter in the seventh on Alejandro Kirk's home run.

Junior Caminero had two singles for the Rays.

The Rays end their season today at 3:07 p.m. at the Rogers Centre. Ian Seymour will start for the Rays agaist Kevin Gausman of Toronto.
