On second thought, maybe the Rays aren't that interested in the post-season, after all.
It wasn't just that the Rays lost their third straight game to Cleveland Sunday afternoon. It was the ragged way in which they played.
Consider:
-- The Rays scored only four runs in their last three losses. They were 0-for-15 with runners in scoring position.
-- In the first inning, the Rays lost a run by a lack of interest. Junior Caminero -- who admittedly has had a strong season -- was on first when Brandon Lowe hit a high fly ball to right. It landed fair, which seemed to give Caminero -- who should have been running on contact -- trotted around the bases and didn't score.
The Rays held a 1-0 lead in the sixth inning after a solo homer by Carson Williams. But Garrett Cleavinger gave up two on a triple by Jose Ramirez and a single by Gabriel Arias.
Drew Rasmussen allowed just three hits and no runs in his five innings.
Brandon Lowe had two hits for the Rays.
The Rays travel to Chicago to start a three-game series with the White Sox Tuesday at 7:35 p.m. Adrian Houser will pitch for the Rays against Yoendrys Gomez.
