Tuesday, 4 a.m.

Here in the middle of a youth movement by the Tampa Bay Rays, there is another face to consider.

And hello there, Ian Seymour.

You know, the guy who stares into left field in the middle of his windup.

Seymour, a 26-year old rookie, was dazzling in his starting debut Monday night. He threw five innings at the Cleveland Guardians, lead the Rays in their 9-0 victory.

Seymour had given up six runs in three innings of relief in his last outing, including three home runs. But he baffled the Cleveland hitters, giving up just a third-inning single.

For Seymour, he seemed to step right into the Rays' new accent on youth. Consider:

Caminero hit two homers./(KIM HUKARI

-- Junior Caminero continued his hot streak as of late. He had fours hits -- including two home runs -- to remind Cleveland what the franchise gave up when they traded him to the Rays. Caminero now has 39 home runs and 94 RBI.

-- Carson Williams had two more hits. He has five in three games since being called up.

-- Bob Seymour (no relation) had two hits.

Oh, the Rays’ veterans helped. Josh Lowe and Yandy Diaz had his two hits. Diaz also had his 21st home run.

The Indians have lost nine of their last 10 games.

But the night was claimed by the Rays, who combined for the team's 10th shutout of the season. Garrett Cleavinger, Bryan Baker and Mason Englert allowed only one hit in their four innings.

The Rays have now scored 26 runs in their last three games.

The Rays play Cleveland again tonight at 6:40 p.m. Shane Baz will start for the Rays against Parker Messick.
