The best Bucs’ QB? It’s a debate without a winner

by Gary Shelton on November 24, 2014 · 1 comment

in general, Tampa Bay Bucs

Some arguments are silly. Some arguments are pointless. Some arguments don’t have a defendable position available.

This one, for instance:

Josh McCown vs. Mike Glennon.

Yikes.

I know, I know. We are in the final third of a wasted season, and you would like very much to find something to care about. This guy vs. that guy is usually a good place to go. In those kinds of arguments, you are often debating production vs. potential, efficiency vs. explosiveness, today vs. tomorrow.

In this case? Pretty much, you’re arguing this backup quarterback vs. that backup quarterback.

And yet, there are fans who are quite loud in their opinions. It has be McCown! It must be Glennon! Their convictions are so strong, you would think they are arguing between Joe Montana and Steve Young. Instead of, say, Jack Thompson and Jerry Goldsteyn.
