Help from below couldn’t stop the Rays fall Tuesday night.

Searching to find an answer to its struggling offense, the Rays pulled up top prospect Junior Caminero  and inserted him in at third base. It didn’t help. Caminero had a hit (in four tries), but the Rays fell 3-2 to Houston.

The Rays are 2- 6 in their last and have fallen below .500 at 59-60.

Even with Caminero, the Rays had just five hits and were one-for-four with runners in scoring position.

The Rays led 1-0, but the Astros came back on solo homers by Alex Bregman and Jeremy Pena. Shane Baz started and took the loss (0-2).

The Rays loaded the bases with one out in the eighth, but they could score onlyon Brandon Lowe’s groundout,

Yusei Kikuchi allowed one run and three hits in his 5 2/3 innings for Houston.

The Rays and Astros play the final game of their three-game set today at 6:40 p.m. at Tropicana Field. Zack Littell will start for the Rays against Ronel Blanco.
