Rays rally to snap losing streak

Stuck is a seemlingless endless losing streak, the Tampa Bay Rays stole one Saturday.

The Rays swiped six bases Saturday afternoon, setting up an eighth-inning comeback that led the Rays to a 3-2 vicotr over the New York Yankees.

The Rays, who have struggled offensively, scratched out two runs in the top of the eighth. One of them came home on Curtis Mead’s soft single to left, and the other scored on a fielder’s choice-error off the bat of Jose Caballero.

The Rays have played 18 games this year where they have scored three runs or fewer. They have won just three of those.

New York had taken a 2-0 lead on solo homers by Aaron Judge and Austin Wells.

Starter Zack Littell, second in the majors in home runs allowed, gave up just oneotehr hit in going seven innings. Pete Fairbanks got his seventh save.

Mead and Christopher Morel each had two hits for the Rays.

The Rays will play the Yankees today at 1:35 p.m. Taj Bradley will start for the Rays against Will Warren.
