Diax had Rays" only hits./TIM WIRT

Sunday, 4 a.m.

Say someone broke into the Rays clubhouse Friday night and stole all the bats. Say hte Rays had to go to the plate with nothing in their hands.

Well, they would have had just two fewer hits than they did Sunday.

The Baltimore Orioles won their fourth game in five tries against the Rays, pulling away for a 5-0 victory. The Rays had just two hits — both by Yandy Diaz — in their loss. The Rays struck out 14 times.

Along the way, the Rays gave up two more home runs — given then O’s 100 on the season. But it was the pitching of Kyle Brady’s, who allowed only Diaz’ slow chopper to third to lead off the game, that field the O’s.

Baltimore got home runs from Ryan O’Hearn and Gunnar Henderson )a three run shot in the ninth) to power the win. Jordan Western tripled in the eighth when his deep fly ball went in and out of the glove of Jose Siri.

The Rays got only one run into scoring position all day.

Taj Bradley was strong as the Rays starter, giving up just one run and three hits. Still, he fell to 1-4.

Reliever Phil Maton had a rough gane, giving up three hits, three rusn and two walks in one-third of an inning.

The teams play again today at 1:40 p.m. at Tropicana Field.  Zack Littell will start for Tampa Bay against Grayson Rodriguez.
