Sometimes, you have to get the other guys out, too.

The struggling Tampa Bay Rays wasted a rare night of offense Tuesday night, losing a 7-6 game to the Minnesota Twins. The Twins have now won six straight games.

Along the way, the Rays wasted leads of 4-0 and 6-4. They wasted a three-run homer by Randy Arozarena and solo shots by Brandon Lowe and Josh Lowe.

The Rays struggled on the mound most of the night. Starter Aaron Civale, despite getting a 4-0 lead, gave up seven hits and four runs in 3 2/3 innings. Shawn Armstrong gave up two runs in an inning. Pete Fairbanks had a tough night, giving up the losing run and leaving the game after being struck on the hand from a batted ball).

Carlos Santana got the winning hit off Phil Maton with a soft liner to right in the bottom of the ninth.

Lowe and Lowe each had two hits for the Rays.

The Rays got a three-run homer from Arozarena early to take their lead. They added the two solo homers just before an hour and 23 minute rain delay, but the last 14 Rays were retired in  order.

The Rays and Twins play again tonight at 7:40 p.m. Taj Bradley will start for the Rays against Joe Ryan.
