The Florida State Seminoles continued to jockey for a top four (playoff) slot in the nation.
On a day the unbeatens dwindled to five teams, with Oklahoma’s loss to Kansas, the Seminoles rolled over Wake Forest to improve their record to 7-0. It was a relatively easy win for FSU, who had a 24-point second quarter and rolled.

Quarterback Jordan Travis, perhaps a top-four guy himself (in the Heisman Trophy race), threw for 359 yards and three touchdowns. He ran for a fourth.
Trey Benson caught four passes for 100 yards, including an 80-yarder on a screen pass. Jordan also threw touchdowns of 29 and 14 yards to Keon Coleman.
FSU faces a tough closing schedule, traveling to Pitt next week, then playing Miami, North Alabama and Florida before the ACC title game.
Georgia 43, Florida 20: You could call it the Son of Fourth-and-Dumb.
You remember the original, right? Back in 1976, Florida went for a fourth-and-a-half yard against Georgia from its own 29 with the lead and failed. Well, it happened again. This time, they went for a fourth-and-two-feet trailing just 10-7. The world caved in on them after that, with No. 1-ranked Georgia pulling away.
Georgia scored five plays after the failed fourth down, then recovered a fumble to set up another. The Bulldogs added a safety on a blocked punt to take a 26-7 halftime lead.
Georgia quarterback Carson Beck threw for 315 yards and two scores.
The Gators are home Saturday against Arkansas at noon.
Miami 29, Virginia 26 (overtime): Mark Fletcher’s 11-yard run for a touchdown completed an uphill battle for the Hurricanes, 6-2.
Miami trailed 10-0, 17-10 and 26-23 in the game before winning.
Malik Washington had 12 catches for 152 yards in a losing effort.
The Hurricanes travel to play N.C. State in an 8 p.m. game Saturday.
