Say this for the USF Bulls. They know how to do this revenge thing.
Last year, the Bulls gave up 56 points in a loss to Florida Atlantic. Not to play favorites, but they also gave up 56 points in a loss to Alabama-Birmingham.
This year, they scored 35 in a win over UAB. And Friday night, they scored 44 in beating FAU 44-21.
What’s that? Granted, USF hasn’t been a world-beater this year. They’re 4-4 going down the stretch. But the four teams USF has lost to are 28-5.
Their last win came uphill. The Bulls trailed throughout the first half. But a strong running game allowed USF to score the game’s last 30 points.
Nay’Quan Wright ran for 117 yards for he Bulls. Kelley Joiner had 89 yards and Ta’Roy Keith had 81. As a team, the Bulls rushed for 319 yards. Backup quarterback Bryce Archie threw for two touchdowns.
FAU quarterback Cam Fancher threw for 308 yards. Running back C.J. Campell had 90 yards rushing and 78 receiving. He scored three touchdowns.
The Bulls are home against Navy Saturday at noon.
