One imagines that the Tampa Bay Lightning couldn’t get out of California fast enough.

Plane? Train? Red-eye? What’s available.

The tailspin of the Tampa Bay Lightning continued Sunday night as the Bolts were beaten once again, 4-1. It was the fourth straight loss, this one to Anaheim. The Lightning suddenly has trouble finding the net.

In three games in California, the Bolts scored just three goals. In all, they fell to the Pacific Division’s  second-place Kings, the sixth-place Ducks and the eighth-place Sharks. Three games, three goals, no points.

Sunday night, the Bolts managed just five shots and were outscored 2-0 in the first period. They had 32 shots in their final two periods, but scored only on Jake Guentzel’s 21st goal.

In their three-game swing, the Bolts got off 106 shots. Only three of them scored.

Jonas Johansson had 22 saves for the Bolts. John Gibson had 36 for the Ducks.

The Lighting returns home to Amalie Arena for a Tuesday night (7 p.m.) game against Carolina.
