It was the ninth straight time the Bulls have beaten UConn.
The Bulls had been on an awful slide against struggling teams, giving up 56 points in each of two losses to UAB (which had been 1-4 coming into that game) and FAU (which was 2-3). So when the Bulls fell behind 21-10 early in the fourth quarter, it wasn’t a surprise.
The Bulls came back, however, with Byrum Brown scoring on a six-yard run and leading his team downfield in the closing moments.
Wright ended the night with 180 yards, including a 47-yarder on the winning drive. He had two touchdowns. Michael Brown Stephens caught nine passes for 92 yards.
For UConn, Camryn Edwards rushed for 149 yards.
The Bulls are 4-4 on the season. They travel to Memphis Saturday .
FSU 38, Duke 20: More and more, the Seminoles look like a team worthy of the post-season.
The Seminoles pulled away from a good Duke team (ranked 16th) with a 21-point fourth quarter. Jordan Travis threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in the victory.
Duke was handicapped by an injury to quarterback Riley Leonard, but Leonard had just 69 yards passing before he left.
FSU is on the road Saturday to play Wake Forest.
Miami 28, Clemson 20 (overtime): Beating Clemson isn't quite the accomplishment it used to be, but for Miami, it was big enough.
The Hurricanes stopped Clemson on a fourth-and-one in overtime to preserve the victory. Corey Flagg tossed Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik for an eight-yard loss on hte game's final play.
Why Clemson chose to run wide left when they were inches from a possible tie will be discussed for months.
The Canes won behind backup quarterback Emory Williams, who started in place of injured Tyler Van Dyke..
Clemson's Jake Briningstool caught five passes for 126 yards.
The Hurricanes are home against Virginia Saturday.
