The Florida Gators lost to Vanderbilt?

So much for all the talk about the progress that the Florida Gators had made in Billy Napier's first season. The Gators lost to an outmanned Vanderbilt team, 31-24, to fall to 6-5 on this season.

It was the first win for Vandy over Florida at home since 1988 and there second win their last 32 games.

Anthony Richardson threw for 400 yards and three touchdowns, but the Gators could run for only 45 yards against the Commodores. Florida made just 27 percent of its third down conversions.

Vanderbilt ran for 175 yards to win its second straight game.

"It's a setback," said Florida coach Billy Napier. "A bit of a reality check."

The Gators travel to FSU Saturday night for a 7 p.m. game.

FSU 49, Louisiana 17: The Seminoles jumped to a 21--0 lead in the first period and coasted. FSU led 35-3 at the half and 49-3 after three periods.

Quarterback Jordan Travis ran for two touchdowns and threw for another.

They're taking care of the business that's at hand, and the level of their play is allowing multiple people to get those experiences," said FSU coach Mike Norvell. "I'm proud of them. Ultimately, you set a standard for a week of what you want it to look like and what you want it to be.

That team has talented players on it. You sit there and you look at the way that the last few weeks have gone for us. We played some really good teams with good players that, you know, ultimately, our guys are playing at a very high level. So when you see that growth, I appreciate that. I appreciate what our guys have done, and the opportunities that are ahead for us to continue to take those positive steps.

FSU is now 8-2. The Seminoles are home against Florida at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.

Clemson 40, Miami 10: The Hurricanes got a realistic look at just how much ground they have to make up before they can compete in the ACC.

The Hurricanes were blasted by Clemson, the ninth-ranked team in the country. It was their 40th straight victory at home.

The Tigers, 10-1, have won at least 10 games in 12 straight seasons. Miami fell to 4-6.

Miami had only 98 yards of offense, just eight in the first half.

Clemson quarterback D.J. Ulagalelei threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third.,

Miami was without quarterback Tyler Van Dyke once again.
