For Stephan Jiggetts, the goal was a big number. For the USF Bulls, it was a small one.
The Bulls won their fifth game of the season (against six losses) Thursday night, pulling away from Bethune-Cookman for an 83-63 victory.
In the victory, Jiggetts passed the 1,000-point margin for the Bulls. He finished the night with 20 points and seven assists.

Five Bulls scored in double figures in the win. Besides Jiggetts, Payton Banks had 16, Tulio Da Silva had 15 and Malik Martin and Terrence Samuels each had 10.
"We played extremely hard, shared the ball, moved the ball," USF coach Brian Gregory said. "I thought Stephan Jiggetts played his most complete game since being here. Payton Banks responded extremely well to coming off the bench, with great energy. We got a lot of good basketball from a lot of different guys, so that was good to see.”
The scoring plateau snuck up on Jiggetts.
“I didn’t even know I was that close, to be honest," Jiggetts said. "I guess it’s a good thing to be happy about. We definitely had to get that extra win in the win column, especially after losing four straight.”
The Bulls play Northern Arizona at home Monday night. The game begins at 7 p.m.
