Random Thoughts: O.J. playing in South Florida?

Blake Bortles is terrible, but I loved the comment under one of stories on him. If he was traded to the Bucs, they could advertize their quarterbacks as “Bortles and Jameis.”

– That, of course, would be the highlight.

– I'm not sure what O.J. Simpson is going to do when he gets out of prison, but if he has any eligibility left, I suspect he'll sign with Lane Kiffin at FAU.

– There for about four seconds, I actually paid attention to Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. But that was months ago. Now, can they both shut up and go away?

– Just asking: Now that Jason Licht has “owned up to the mistake” of drafting Roberto Aguayo, is the next thing to “own up to the mistake” of signing Nick Folk?

– Did you hear the story that a Chicago woman, Brittney Harmon, wore a Chicago Bears' wedding dress. Yeah, there is no bride quite as lovely as one who dresses like Dick Butkus. Still, I'd bet that her marriage lasts longer than the Bears-Mike Glennon union.

–  Five drugs inside of Tiger Woods? Is he opening a pharmacy? As Mike Bianchi of the Orlando Sentinel says, “I'm just surprised one of them wasn't Viagra.”

– Say what you want about Jerry Palm, I like his college bowl forecast. In it, he has FSU playing Alabama in the national semifinals, South Florida playing Florida in the Peach Bowl, Miami playing Auburn in the Citrus Bowl, Michigan playing Oregon in the Holiday Bowl and Georgia playing Nebraska in the Outback Bowl.

– Just thinking: Maybe the Bucs didn't spend a high-enough draft pick on a kicker.

– The best thing about that silly pass attempt by Jameis Winston against the Jags? No one saw it. The Bucs-Jags game drew a 1.6 share, the worst showing since a tape-delayed broadcast 13 years ago between the Colts and Falcons drew a 1.5. I think more people than that watched the last episode of Petticoat Junction.

– Does former SMU coach Ron Meyer like the way ex-Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze did his job?

– So wait. There's a Cheetos restaurant in Manhattan? A restaurant that serves dishes made from Cheetos? Uh, has anyone told New Yorkers that they sell them by the bag at the 7-11?

– Former Buc Chris Simms said he accepted $100 handshakes while at Texas. Just a thought, but maybe some of those Longhorn boosters have change coming.
