Why does Roger Goodell need the grief?

He makes plenty of money. He gets good seats to all the nice games. He attends the fanciest parties. His name is on all the footballs. The owners love him because he turns their nickels into quarters.

So why isn't it enough?

Why on earth does Goodell continue to slog through the muck like a pioneer sheriff, arresting, judging and carrying out his own sentences? Why is he so aggressive, so defiant, so imperious? Does he think that being commissioner is only worth it if he gets to be a hanging judge? Does he like life in the trenches? Its time to say goodbye to Goodell. I hate his plan to move nfl football to the UK. even the guys from Bucs UK say its a stupid Idea! I just don’t like where football is going and think a better commish is required.
I say..Gary Shelton for NFL Commish!!! 🙂

I’ll be honest, I don’t know how the other sports handle discipline issues – think Joe Torre is or was involved in some for MLB, but no clue on the NHL, NBA, or the PGA for that matter. But do agree with you, don’t know why Goodell wants the headaches, and doubt the new NFL agreement with the player’s association when it comes will continue to give that power to the Commish alone…
