It wasn't a huge win. It wasn't over an impressive opponent. As victories go, the best you can say is that it beat the alternative.

Still, USF won its fourth game in the Jeff Scott era Saturday night.

The Gators, who had opened their season with an impressive upset of Utah, were shut out in the second half in a loss to Kentucky Saturday night.

Florida led 16-13 at the break but couldn't score afterward.

Quarterback Anthony Richardson threw for just 143 yards and rushed for just four.

The Gators are home at USF Saturday.

Miami 30, Southern Miss 7: The Hurricanes pulled away in the second half to beat USM.

The Hurricanes led only 10-7 at the half. But the Hurricanes outscored USM 20-0 in the second half.
