For half of the game, the Rays played the New York Yankees toe-to-toe.
For the second, they did not.
The Rays lost their third straight game Thursday night, falling 6-3 to the Yankees. The Rays led 3-1 early, but gave up five runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Starting pitcher Taj Bradley gave up nine hits and six runs in 5 1/3 innings.

Oh, Tampa Bay started well. They loaded the bases in the second, third and fifth innings. The Rays had just two hits after the fifth inning.
The Rays struck out 13 times and left 10 men on base.
Richie Palacios returned to the Rays lineup from the injured list and had three hits. Junior Caminero had two hits — including a two-run homer — as did Jake Mangum.
The Rays are 8-11 on the season.
The Rays and Yankees play again tonight at Steinbrenner Field at 7:05 p.m.
