Diaz had a huge night./TIM WIRT

Tuesday, 4 a.m.

Some days, the only problem an offense has is whether it will wear home plate slap out before the night is through.

The Tampa Bay Rays exploded Monday night, scoring a season-high 16 runs on 18 hits in a 16-6 victory over the Baltimore Orioles at Tropicana Field.

Want to talk about offense?

-- How about Yandy Diaz? Diaz had four hits, scored four runs and drove in four.

-- How about Junior Caminero? Camineo had two hits, including his 13th home run. He drove in four runs and scored three.

-- How about Ryan Vilade? Vilade, a part-time outfielder -- had three hits and drove in three runs.

-- How about Jonny DeLuca, Taylor Walls and Richie Palacios, all of whom had two hits.

-- How about a team scoring five runs in hte esecond and four in boht the fifth and sixth?

It made for an easy night for the Rays. Shane McClanahan wasn't as sharp as normal -- giving up four earned runs in five innings -- but won his fifth game of the season (two losses).

The Rays and Orioles play again tonight at Tropicana Field at 6:40 p.m. Griffin Jax will start for the Rays againdt Kyle Bradish.
