So which team is the Bombers around here?

The Tampa Bay Rays, among the major league teams that have hit the fewest home runs this season, beat the powerful New York Yankees at their own game Tuesday night.

Even with their recent power surge, the Rays rank only 26th in the the majors with 87 home runs. That's far behind the Yankees, who lead the majors with 132 homers.

On Tuesday, however, the Rays launched three homers to lift them to a 6-4 win at Tropicana Field, re-establishing their lead to four games in the AL East standings.

The Rays got homers from Victor Mesa Jr., Hunter Feduccia and Yandy Diaz in their win. They only had eight hits on the night, so their power bailed them out.

Feduccia had the big blow, a two-ru shot in the fourth inning. Diaz followed Feduccia with a homer of his own as the next batter.

The Yankees had taken a 3-2 lead on a three-run homer by Ben Rice.

Starter Ian Seymour (6-1) got the win for the Rays, allowing three runs in 5 1/3 innings. Bryan Baker got his 24th save by working a scoreless ninth.

Diaz, Mesa Jr. and Richie Palacios all had two hits for the Rays.

The Rays and Yankees play again tonight at 6:40 p.m. at Tropicana. Shane McClanahan (7-5) will start for the Rays against Gerrit Cole (3-3).
