Looking back at Bucs loss to Broncos

  1. The truth of it is that the Bucs aren’t a great team. They did you a favor by reminding you of that Sunday. They’re good, and they’re entertaining, but they remain flawed.

2. Hot in here, isn’t it, Todd?

3. I don’t care what you say. A team cannot life with Pee-Wee Herman as its best pass rusher.

4. Some days, Baker Mayfield reminds you of just how small he is. Especially with an offensive lineman in his lap.

5. Has anyone seen Mike Evans? Anywhere?

(From Todd Bowles’ Monday press conference)

(On reviewing the tape): “It was as bad as I thought it was. We didn’t play well in any facet of the game – offense, defense, or special teams.”

(On the team’s lack of sacks the last two weeks): Sometimes they just hadn’t beaten their guy, sometimes they had but the ball had been out. We’ve got to keep working. They’ve got to get there. We need more push on the inside to help them out on the outside. We’ve just got to keep working at it.”

(On how to avoid a losing streak): “We can’t make the mistakes we made. We made a lot of mistakes yesterday that cost us the ballgame. We could’ve made some plays that could’ve bailed us out of some things and we didn’t. We’ve just got to stay the course and understand it’s going to be a long year. We’re going to play harder next game than we did this game, and harder the next game after that than that game and try to keep it going.”

(On getting more production from the wideouts): “We’re still working through it. Obviously, Mike and Chris are the priority, but other guys have got to start chipping in and we’ve got to get the ball to them.”

(On recovering mentally): “Not too high on the wins, not too low on the losses. We’ve got another game to prepare for. We’ve got to get ready to go after we watch the tape and correct everything. Get the taste out of their mouth and get to work.”
