Lighting comes back twice to win

They were behind fast. They were behind decisively. They were behind convincingly.

And then the Tampa Bay Lightning came back.

Alas, the rally from three goals down didn't last. The Bolts fell behind again, hinting at another wasted surge.

And then the Lightning came back again.

The Bolts snapped a three-game losing streak. They came back from a three-goal deficit in the first period, and a 4-3 deficit in the third.

"You basically saw a formula of how to lose a game, adn then how to win a game all in the span of about two hours and 15 minutes," Bolts' coach Jon Cooper said. "That's what happened."

The Bolts fell beind in a hurry, giving up two goals on the Hurricanes' first three shots. They fell behind 3-0 by the end of the first period.

The second period, however, belonged to Tampa Bay. They got goals from Gage Goncalves, Brayden Point and Jack Finley.

The Hurricanes retook the lead early inte third period, but 26 seconds later, Ryan McDonaugh scored to tie the again. After that, Jake Guentzel took over, scoring his 16th and 17th goals (the latter an empty-netter) to end the scoring.

Bolts' goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy made 18 saves to improve his record to 12-7-2.

The Bolts at home at Benchmark International at 7 p.m. to face the St. Louis Blues.
