Various thoughts on NFL free agency

March 3, 2017 general

Friday, 4 a.m. Keep this in mind: Free agents aren’t free. Free agents can help turn a team around, such as Brent Grimes and Robert Ayers did last year. Or they can cripple a franchise, the way Anthony Collins and Michael Johnson once did after the Bucs threw millions of dollars at them. They can […]

Did Lightning get enough in Bishop trade?

February 27, 2017 general

Monday, 4 a.m. The question is not how the goaltender coming in compares with the one going out. The question is not how much money Ben Bishop might have wanted, or whether the Lightning should have considered paying it since Bishop has clearly outplayed young Andrei Vasilevskiy. The question is not about the young defenseman, […]

February 26, 2017 general

The reason two USF basketball players fell asleep and missed their flights? Maybe they were watching gamefilm of USF basketball. – Keyshawn Johnson says Dan LeBatard is a racist for questioning Magic Johnson’s ability to run the Lakers. I think maybe Johnson needs a dictionary. You can criticize – right or wrong – without it […]
