Is it too late for the Tampa Bay Lightning to make another trade? Two?

The Bolts certainly seemed as if they could use it in Saturday afternoon’s 4-0 loss to the sliding Boston Bruins. They entered as two teams heading in opposite directions, but the Bruins hammered the listless Bolts in their victory.

Poor Boston. The Bruins entered after losing nine of 10 games. They seemed to have gutted their roster at the trade deadline, shipping out captain Brad Marchand among others. They were the 25th best scoring team in the league.

The Bolts, meanwhile, had won 10 of 11 and had reinforced their roster.

Still, Tampa Bay had little flow to its game, struggling to get the puck into the Boston end. They hit four posts, but they were unable to score on 26 shots.

Boston got two goals from former Lightning player Cole Koepke.

Tampa Bay plays at Carolina on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
