These days, the Tampa Bay Lightning have plenty of nothing.
The Bolts were shut out for the second straight game, losing 2-0 to the Toronto Maple Leafs Once again, goalie Jonas Johansson (playing because Andrei Vasilevskiy is on the injured list) was strong in goal, but he wasn't perfect. He allowed one goal on 24 shots.
It was enough. Morgan Rielly scored with 4:34 left in the first period. That held until Auston Matthews scored an empty netter with .6 of a second left. It was 2-0 at the Scotiabank Arena.
In two games, the Bolts have gotten off 61 shots, but have yet to score. Even worse, this time, Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point played.
"It was tough coming in after teh first period without the lead," said Bolts' coach Jon Coper. "I don't know. It was one of those where whoever scored fifrst was going to win. I thought we took a step back tonight."
Overall, the Bolts have lost four straight games.
Tampa Bay tries again tonight at 7 p.m. at teh Bell Centre in Montreal.
