Yes, they can still score. Yes, they can still win.
After a rugged slide, with four straight losses and two straight shutouts, the Tampa Bay Lightning finally stood up Tuesday night. The Bolts won 6-1 over Montreal in the Bell Centre.
Was the losing streak only four games? It felt longer. Was the scoreless stretch only one hundred and 28 minutes? It seemed eternal. The Bolts scored just four goals -- three in a loss to Pittsburgh during their streak.
Tuesday night, that all ended. The Bolts scored three times in the first period, one in the second and two in the third.
Goalie Jonas Johansson, playing because of an injury to Andrei Vasiliveskiy, stopped 26 of 27 shots to improve his record at 6-5.
Darren Radish scored two goals for the Bolts, his fourth and fifth. Brayden Point (fourth), Pontus Holmberg (second), Nikita Kucherov (13th), andCharle-Edouard D'Astous (third) all scored.
Victor Hedman left the game after the first period.
The Bolts now travel to New Jersey at 7 p.m. at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
