The torrid streak of the Tampa Bay Lightning continued Wednesday night.
The Bolts won their fifth straight game, and their 13th of their last 16 games, with an easy 5-1 victory over the Calgary Flames at Benchmark International
Tampa Bay scored four goals in the first period and coasted. Two of the goals came in the first 86 seconds. Their four goals came in the first 10:01 of the first period.
Brandon Hagel, Charle Edouard D'Astous, Zemgus Girgensons and Declain Carlile all scored.
Nikita Kucherov scored in the third period.
"I really liked what we were doing for two periods," Lightning coach Jon Cooper said. "I really didn't like our third. In the end, Calgary pushed and we didn't manage the puck well.''
The defense has been special for the Bolts. They've allowed four goals in their five-game winning streak. Goalie Andre Vasilevskiy won his 10th game (10-5-2) with 32 saves.
The Bolts play in Detroit on Friday against the Red Wings at noon.
