Perhaps you heard about. Tampa Bay was humbled by Detroit’s Lions on Sunday.

Also, by Detroit’s Lyons.

The Lightning had its five-game winning streak snapped by the Red Wings and goaltender Alex Lyons Sunday. Lyons allowed an early goal to Victor Hedman, then shut out Tampa Bay the rest of the game in a 2-1 victory.

Lyons stopped 28 of 29 shots, including 11 power play shots. The Bolts had scored 22 goals in their previous five games.

The Wings scored on goals by Lucas Redmond and Daniel Sprong.

The teams are in a virtual tie in the playoff race, each with 53 points. The Wings have a game in hand.

Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 33 of 35 shots.

Tampa Bay had just 11 shots through two periods. They had 16 in the final period.

“You just can’t play one period games in this league and expect to win,” Bolts’ coach Jon Cooper said. “We had a chance, but the only reason we had a chance is our goaltender gave us a chance. After we scored, our game went south and they turned it up a notch. If you want to make the playoffs, you can’t lay an egg like that, especially against a team you’re going neck and neck against. We had a chance to way we’ve arrived, and we failed.

“It was an easy night for Detroit. We didn’t make it hard on them. That’s the disappointing part.”

The Bolts are in Philadelphia on Tuesday night to face the Flyers.
