Winston regains his swagger in a week 2 victory

in general, NFL, Tampa Bay Bucs

He belongs. Finally. Fully.

Gather the quarterbacks of the NFL into a group, and yes, he is one of them now. Jameis Winston joined the club Sunday afternoon when he finally played in a game where he made a difference. He had had a good day. He won a game. He went on the road and upset a favored opponent while much of a nation doubted him.

For Jameis Winston, the next goal is this.

He has to make the Bucs trust him.

Winston was pretty good in Tampa Bay's 26-19 shocker over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Perhaps he might have been great if his coaches had trusted him a little more. He threw for a touchdown. He ran for a touchdown. He looked at home in the pocket. He made big runs. He made big throws.

For the Bucs, even pretty good was a welcome sight. Winston had been thoroughly outplayed by fellow rookie Marcus Mariota in the opening week, so much that some critics were ready to bury him already. Boomer
