When the score is tied 2-2 in the third period, he is still the player you look for to make an impact.

When the team has won its fifth straight, or lost its third straight, he is still the player you listen to for perspective.

He still has the best vision on the ice, the best hands on the team. He is still the player the other players look for in the biggest moments. He is still is the finest leader in the clubhouse.

On the other hand, Steven Stamkos still hasn't signed his name.

I’m beginning to think that Stamkos is history for the Lightning after this season, but the sad part, if I understand it correctly, is the Lightning get nothing for losing him, not even a draft choice. That has to be a blow.
