in general, NFL, Tampa Bay Bucs

You imagine him watching. You imagine him comparing. You remember him looking at various players and thinking “I want one of those.''

Yep, it should have been an interesting night of watching the Super Bowl for Lovie Smith.

Who needs to get to work.

There was so much about the this game that wasn't about the Tampa Bay Bucs. There were 44 starters in the Super Bowl, and about 40 of them were infinitely superior to anyone

You’re right, of course. Keep the faith is the mantra. Tough to do. I was on the color guard at the 1st Bucs’ home game, and have carried their colors ever since, but it’s a heavy load year after year.

It must be. But when they win, won’t it be sweeter?

I can see the Lightning winning another Stanley Cup in the next couple of years; I can even see the Rays winning a world series with some tweaks and some luck; but as hard as I try I can’t see the Bucs going anywhere, anytime. And that breaks my heart.

They are certainly a million miles away. But the NFL does more than any league to help its bad teams. Salary caps and shared revenues and weighted schedules and free agents and common drafts. It can happen. May not, but it can.
