They rolled the baseballs onto the field Friday. No one wondered if they were deflated.

They rolled them past the seats that were still covered in plastic, and past the stacks of dirt that will be used underneath the turf. They rolled them onto the field which, thankfully, was in the shape of a baseball diamond instead of the football field it has resembled as of late.

It is here that the seeds of a baseball season are being planted. It is here that scattered players show up and

I don’t expect much from the Rays this season- in fact, I expect little – I can’t see where these new faces will bring more wins – it almost feels like a team that borders on a AAA team. Look for a lot of empty blue seats at the Trop in 2015.

Sorry to read about Balfour’s father’s health. Just shows that there are more important things in life than wins and losses by your favorite sports team…….

By not much, what do you think? 75 wins? 80?

if we don’t get to the century mark in losses, I’ll be pleasantly surprised….but I’m a negative (Bucs, Rays, Bulls) fan who has learned to have low expectations – then be surprised/happy when they overachieve……

I think they win more than 62. But not enough more.

Before my 4 favorite words in the English language (pitchers and catchers report) happens, I wonder why during the off-season–and for that matter, last year–I have not heard a word, not a peep, about Mike Montgomery?

Montgomery seems to be lost in the shuffle behind the new faces coming. He needs a solid spring, don’t you think?

Yes, I agree. I thought that along with Odorizzi he was supposed to be a nice part of the Royals deal, and of course, Myers. Being a lefty, my goodness, I see them around for years….;-)

I’ve journeyed down to Port Charlotte for some of the full team workouts before they start their Spring Training games. They have a four field complex – it makes things interesting when you watch them play through the season – very fan friendly experience that I recommend for serious fans – takes about 90 mins to get down there from the TB area…..
