Wednesday, 6 a.m.

Five minutes ago, maybe less, and they were a spectacle.

One shift ago, maybe two, and they were a happening.

They were Star Wars, and a light-sabre battle on a spaceship. They were the Wallendas, and the tightrope was burning pn both ends. They were firewords stacked upon fireworks, video games and special effects. They were an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride, twisting and climbing and plummeting toward earth.

They were the greatest show on ice, these Tampa Bay Lightning.
