Forever, he had been missing. Forever, he had been a bystander.

It had been so long since Steven Stamkos had scored, odds are that he had forgotten that light comes on.

Nine playoff games, eight of them this year, and Stamkos had been just another guy playing in traffic. Oh, he had an assist here and there, but there was nothing to hint at what a sharpshooter he had been in most seasons.

Until Sunday night, against the Montreal Canadiens.
