in general, Tampa Bay Rays

As voices go, it is a good one, young, vibrant, passionate. It moves quickly through its answers, the words spilling over each other as the thoughts come out, the enthusiasm obvious as it rolls along.

This is the sound of leadership. There is anticipation in the voice, and confidence. Despite its age, there is not a lot of room for doubt or questions.

This is the voice that will speak quietly early in the morning, as it instructs a young player on a base-running error. This is the voice that will yell at umpires. This is the voice that will tell a clubhouse that it expects a good team to live here. This is a voice that will celebrate in a walk-off win, the voice that will maintain confidence in a slump.

This is Kevin Cash's voice.

It is the new way that the Tampa Bay Rays sound.
